Giuliana is 2 and if you follow us on Facebook you got to see the collage I made with her newborn, 1-year and 2-year images together. There are lots of things I love about my job, but the privilege of watching children grow up before my very eyes is one of the best. I first photographed Giuliana when she was a little bean in her mother’s belly. It has been a great joy to be there for all her milestones and witness that belly become a baby, a baby girl becoming a crawler, a walker, and now a preschooler.
And this shoot? Was a travel shoot, way up north where the sun sets at 9:30 at night. Wild applause is due her parents (and Lydia’s!) for traveling with a toddler, readjusting her schedule that allowed for a sunset shoot, when she was away from her home, bed & schedule… and this girl held on for the final embers of the sun’s warm glow. Allowing us these magical images. With a two year old away from home and hours past her bedtime – it could have been a very different story.
