And in case you couldn’t guess by his name, Gibson’s daddy is a musician – a guitar aficionado!

I think I’m about do break my own advice! We’re terribly behind on sneak peeks, but we’ve been busy so I promise they are all coming!

In the meantime, Randy organized a quick photo shoot for Mother’s Day of our own boys. They could absolutely not care less right now, but one day I hope they will treasure pics with their momma, as much as I treasure the photos of my momma and me when I was little. They really do become heirloom treasures! These will be printed and hung and one day passed down to them and their kids.

In spite of that, we snuck in lots of set ups while he cat-napped and he really was a rock star. This little guy is so loved!

Jagger is a baby planner and we get to see him once-a-month all year long. I can’t wait to do a month-by-month shot of him at the end of the year.

It was so stinkin’ cute and we could see the moment the sugar kicked in. The grown ups were giggling as he politely tackled his cupcake like a little gentleman.

Oh Apollo – it has been a delight and a privilege to capture your ages and stages this year. You are a joy of a child, sweet boy, and I’ve loved watching your first year.

I cannot believe how much this sweet girl has grown this year. She’s almost finished kindergarten and she has grown up so much! She lost 2 baby teeth and has 2 more wiggly ones and her face has changed so much from when we shot her 5-year-old portraits. I always adore my time with Ella because this girl is so easy to love. She’s earnest and happy and enthusiastic and brimming with young exuberance, and as her momma says, “…this girl feels everything so much.” She is sweetness, this one.

We kept giggling because this sweet, bendy baby girl loves to kick those feet up over her head (even now – several weeks later!). We would fold up her legs and then she’d kick those feet right back over her head… over and over.

Charlotte is also one of our tiniest girls yet… at just around 5 lb. You can see just how little she is in Daddy’s hands. We sure loved having her in the studio.

The girls were back and now they can sit up and they’re getting so big! I adore their time in the studio. For those of you not from Iowa – University of Iowa Hawkeye colors are black and gold. State rival Iowa State Cyclone colors are red and gold. Mom is a Hawkeye fan, Dad is a Cyclone fan. It’s a house divided! Love the school color ruffle butts!

In fact, Katriona’s newborn session and her uncle’s 9 month session were just a few weeks apart! I just love that story. Because of the age/relationship, we photographed Katriona in the very same basket we used to photograph her uncle.

Miss Katriona was an older baby girl and was very alert and aware of her surroundings. She made us work pretty hard, but oh my goodness… wasn’t it worth it?

This charmer has dimples and the sweetest little rolls in all the right places. He was so happy for a full hour and a half, and we kept shooting and he kept flirting and smiling. Doesn’t that belly laugh just make you giggle?
