Worldwide Photo Walk

Today was a great day, I participated in Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk. What an amazing event with over 30,000 photographers around the world going on a photo walk. I can’t wait to see many other photographer’s pictures. The weather here was perfect, 70 degrees on a July day (basically unheard of). I also got to meet many other great photographers, professional and amateur alike. I even got the chance to meet a photographer that has really inspired me locally when I started my blog (Tom it was a pleasure to finally meet you).

These are the 10 pictures I have chosen from today’s walk. I would like to get your opinion on which pictures you think I should submit for the contest part of the walk.

Thanks and I can’t wait for next years walk already!

I really enjoyed the different perspectives in the photos– it gave them an interesting twist.

My favorite would have to be the broken glass.

1,3,4,5 and 9 are my favs…but I think #4 is my very favorite one. That sunburst gets me every time!

What an awesome time you must have had. Your shots certainly turned out fabulous!

  3. Tess says:

1 and 5 are my faves!!! Great set!

  4. Hottshots says:

Remarkable vision. #10 is like an Eischer Drawing! Thank you for sharing!

  5. Ruthanne says:

Oh my ~ they're all fabulous!

I think I'm gonna go with Marsha' fav. ~ the broken glass. That is pretty sweeeet.

  6. Beth@Pages of Our Life says:

Wow! That very first one captured my attention. I think it's my favorite. The composition is stunning.

It looks like you had a great time.

    Bdad-
I love your talent for finding geometry in everything! 4 & 5 are my favs!

  8. Tyra says:

You MUST submit the broken window! They are all so great!

  9. Josh, Steph, The Boys and Maddie says:

Wow these are awesome! Okay my top three are # 2 because I love the sharpness on the wall. I think it would make a great texture. I like how the wall cracks down the center of the photo straight to the old rusty tire. I think the grafitti on the wall just compliments the picture. And I love the crisp blue sky and defined white clouds.

My other favorite (and also most favorite) is #4. I love the sun flare on the photo. It is perfectly captured. I love how each flare is defined perfectly. I like that you can still make out the location and the sign. I like the intensity of the white sky and the slight vintage feel.

And my other favorite is #5. I like the reflections of the sun. I like the shape of the building against the clear blue sky.

I hope that helps! The other ones are neat also but the three I listed caught my eye immediately.

  10. Lori says:

I vote for #4…because the glare of the sun ties in perfectly with the Science Center. I also like #5 with the reflection.

  11. Crystal Rae says:

Hey thanks for stopping by. I love number 8, the one with the glass, it's so cool I'm loving it!

also, I just bout a Scott Kelby Photography book Today.

  12. Memories by Micha says:

OMG no way to pick a favorite every single one of those are just fantastic!

  13. Sharon says:

Ok… I LOVE #3. It almost makes me hold my breath… gives me a strange sense of falling even though I am looking up. The detail of the building is awesome and I have a strange urge to just touch the picture, haha!

They are all great, I don't know how you are going to decide… I love your work. :)

  14. Allyson says:

I like both 6 & 8. Interesting and not overdone. :) Great photos. I didn't make it to our photowalk, but I am thinking about taking my own with the kids. Should be fun.

  15. Tiffany Walensky says:

Wow these are all awesome, I love your post processing. I would have to say #4 is my favorite, it stands out the most to me.

  16. Annette says:

My favorite is #3. I like the strong lines. I like the perspective/angle you shot it from. I also think the blue sky with white clouds reflecting in the buildings windows is a nice additional touch of color. Very nice post processing. You have a talent for the urban setting.

I also participated in the Photo Walk. I had an enjoyable time. I found it challenging, since I so rarely shoot in urban areas. I live on a ranch and most of my photography reflects that. It was a good stretch for me. However, my photos turned out to be very boring.

  17. Brittania Garden Photoart says:

#1 and #8 are my favorites. the comp in #1 is superb, but i think #8 has something really unique about it…i can't put my finger on exactly what it is though.

    awesome work!!

  18. Kate says:
