My mission at every session is to create the most gorgeous images time and talent allow. I will always have my A-game on, but I need you - my clients - to help me accomplish this mission. As such, I have created a set of guidelines that help me be the best photographer I can be, and provide you with the best session experience and finished products available on the market. Help me serve you the best I can!
Now for the not-so-fun part:
And if you know me, you know these are here for a reason. *wink wink*
- 1. There is both a Questionnaire and a Studio Policy form. These will need to be completed before your session is booked. Your date is not held until the Creative Session fee is paid.
- 2. Scheduling of times and locations and any official correspondence is all done via email rather than over the phone, so that both parties have the plans in writing to look back over. Everything is available in your inbox for reference, as needed. Please check your email regularly leading up to your session, and please reply promptly. Outdoor sessions, in particular, are light and weather dependent and can sometimes shift as needed to get the best light and locations.
- 3. No cameras on-set besides ours. We don't allow parents or well-meaning loved ones to use cameras, videos, or phones over our shoulders or "behind the scenes."
- 4. Please leave children who aren't being photographed with another caregiver. Unattended children are too much of a liability and we ask that you please arrange other care for them. This is for their safety and so we don't have to send you a huge bill for broken equipment. ;)
- 5. Your Creative Fee locks in your session. Once you pay it, I will turn away any business that inquires for that date. I am a small, boutique business and have limited sessions available each week. Because of this, your Creative Fee is a non-refundable retainer.
- 6. Please be on time for your session. Tardiness doesn't leave me enough time to capture all the images I wish to provide for you and may leave us scrambling with fading available light. Latecomers will result in a reduced number of final images in your gallery.
- 7. There is a $700 minimum print or product commitment. On average, clients invest around $1800 in prints or products, but I keep that minimum lower to remain accessible to all budgets. Your investment will depend on the prints and products, sizes, and keepsakes you love and choose. The Product Guide and a la pricing can be found in your Client Guide magazine.
- 8. The number of people who will be photographed as well as the ages of all children must be divulged and agreed upon before you are put on the calendar and pay the Creative Session Fee. Please do not surprise us at shoot time (or in the hours before!) with unexpected family members. A lot of artistry and planning goes into preparing for your session; the location, equipment needed, time, prep, and amount of editing is very different for a portrait session than a family session. Please don't put me in an awkward position by bringing session crashers to the shoot. We will proceed as planned with the portrait session, but I'd be happy to schedule an additional family portrait session to include your loved one(s) on another date so we can be prepared!
- 9. Your scheduled session is weather-dependent. The equipment cannot be exposed to rain, heavy snow, or intense cold. Babies and young children may be rescheduled for ground saturation if deemed necessary. In case of inclement weather, your session will be rescheduled. We don't reschedule for clouds, humidity, wind, or light snow.
- 10. Your Viewing & Ordering Session will take place online via Zoom approximately 3 weeks after your session.
- 11. Ordering is done at the time of your Viewing & Ordering session so I may answer all questions and show you what products you'll be getting. Please come prepared with any measurements and your portrait needs. You are always welcome to add additional prints and products down the line, but your initial minimum product commitment order will be placed and purchased at the end of your viewing session.
- 12. Seniors: One [1] image will be provided to the yearbook as long as our images meet yearbook standards. There is no cost for this submission. Yearbooks that require indoor or specific backgrounds will have to make alternative arrangements. We do not provide additional images for senior slideshows, yearbook ads, newspaper submissions, banners, or other purposes outside of the standard wallet-size submission for inclusion in the yearbook.
- 13. It is illegal to copy, scan, print, edit, crop, sell, reproduce, screen capture, photograph, alter or otherwise manipulate photographic prints, album pages, and printed artwork created by His & Hers. His & Hers retains all copyrights.
- 14. A print release for digital images is available. It is illegal to sell, edit, alter, run filters on, or otherwise manipulate digital artwork and images. Images may not be used to represent a commercial business or idea. His & Hers makes no guarantee for print quality made by consumer-level printers. His & Hers retains all copyrights. We appreciate your integrity!
Phew! I look forward to the opportunity to make something beautiful for you! Thank you.
